So, a man who had managed to keep a clean record himself was hanging around previously convicted felons, and has now been sentenced to five years of three-hots-and-a-cot. Normally I would include the criminals mugshot, something the Lexington Herald-Leader will not do, but the internet search for this fine gentleman’s mugshot turned up images of more than one person, and I cannot be certain which one is this new guest of the federal government.
Man sentenced to prison time for buying guns later used in Kentucky violent crimes

Lamondre Haynes, 33, bought 27 firearms that were later recovered by law enforcement in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri during investigations into people arrested for drug violations, assaults and gun possession crimes.
Haynes was sentenced to serve five years in prison for one count of making a false statement to a federally licensed firearms dealer. He pleaded guilty to the charge in June, the Department of Justice said in a news release.
Haynes admitted that he purchased several firearms while with a convicted Illinois felon who provided some cash for the purchase, a news release states. One of the firearms was later recovered by police during a carjacking where someone was shot.
It’s actually simple: our rights to keep and bear arms mean that someone not legally barred from buying firearms can do so, and we have to depend on the civility and sensibility of those who have no criminal records not to get involved with the bad guys, and resell firearms to them. When that trust is violated, we need to come down on them, hard.
