Stupid is as stupid does, and prison cannot cure stupid Swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool

Jayana Webb mugshot, via Fox29 News.

This site has twice previously reported on the very lovely Jayana Webb. On March 21, 2022, 21-year-old Miss Webb killed 29-year-old Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Brendan Sisca, 33-year-old State Trooper Martin Mack, and 28-year-old electrician Reyes Rivera Oliveras. No, Miss Webb didn’t pull a gun and shoot them; she used a Chevy Captiva. The Philadelphia Inquirer, in an article designed to promote some sympathy for Miss Webb, reported:

At 12:47 a.m., Webb wrote on Twitter that she had been stopped “doing 110 in a 50″ mile-per-hour zone. While state police have neither confirmed nor denied the stop, multiple news outlets reported that Mack and Sisca stopped the woman for speeding on the interstate that night.

Around the time of the tweet, state police said the troopers were abruptly redirected to assist a man apparently attempting to cross the highway near Lincoln Financial Field. The troopers bolted south, and found Oliveras.

In other words, Miss Webb was about to get away with going 60 MPH over the speed limit. That’s more than just speeding; that’s reckless driving. Unfortunately, reckless did not translate into wreckless.

Webb, who prosecutors said admitted to drinking Hennessy cognac that night, proceeded south on I-95 and crashed into the three men at such a speed that the impact ripped the doors off their stopped state police SUV and sent the troopers flying over a highway divider.

The troopers and Mr Oliveras were in the left hand median; to have struck them, Miss Webb had to have been driving down the “hammer” lane, the left-hand passing lane. She got away with speeding, and she was speeding again.

Miss Webb didn’t get away with it, and wound up pleading guilty to three counts of third-degree murder, three counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, and one count of DUI. She was sentenced to 27½ to 60 years in prison. Personally, I believe that she should get out of prison on the same day that Messrs Siska, Mack, and Oliveras come back to life.

But that was hardly the end of the story. Miss Webb, while out on bail, got herself knocked up, and her reporting to prison was delayed until after she had the child, plus a period in which she could bond with him. That’s pretty lenient.

More lenient, however, is the fact she was out on bail at all. In Pennsylvania, bail can be denied to those charged with murder, and Miss Webb was facing three murder charges. As we have previously reported, Cody Monroe Heron, who was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, but did not kill anyone, was first assigned a bail amount of $250,000, and when he petitioned for a lowered bail amount, because he couldn’t make the $250,000, his bond amount was instead raised to $400,000. After being locked up for five months, Mr Heron pleaded guilty to “two first-degree felony counts of aggravated assault — a special version of the charge used when the victims are under the age of 13 and the defendant is an adult — and one misdemeanor count of possessing an instrument of crime.”

As we recently noted, former Philadelphia Police Officer Edsaul Mendoza pleaded guilty to a single count of third degree murder, for ridding the city of 12-year-old wannabe gangbanger Thomas Siderio, more than two years after the incident, and had been kept locked up the entire time; no bail for Mr Mendoza. And the George Soros-sponsored, police-hating, softer-than-Charmin-on-crime District Attorney Larry Krasner is keeping former officer Mark Dial in jail, without bail, on another murder charge.

My question is an obvious one: if Mr Krasner is so determined to keep people he doesn’t like locked up before their trials, why was Miss Webb allowed bail? She was free as a bird, albeit with an ankle monitor, when she got knocked up, something that couldn’t have happened had she been in jail awaiting trial on three murder counts. Why was she treated differently?

Well, it turns out that Miss Webb was just as stupid when it came to with whom she copulated as she has been on everything else!

Two-month-old son of DUI driver who killed state troopers severely injured by father, police say

Tahir Riley’s partner, Jayana Webb, already is serving a long prison sentence after hitting and killing state troopers with her car in 2022.

A Schwenksville man has been charged with aggravated assault after, Pennsylvania State Police say, he fractured his 2-month-old son’s skull, causing brain bleeding and other injuries.

Tahir Riley, 27, also faces endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, and reckless endangerment for the attack, which took place April 18 inside Riley’s home on Concord Road, according to the affidavit of probable cause for his arrest.

Riley remained in custody Monday in lieu of $1 million bail. He is being represented by the Montgomery County Public Defenders’ Office, but it was unclear Monday if he had been assigned an attorney.

The boy was born in February to Riley and Jayana Webb, 23, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.

There’s more at the original, but the moral of this story is that stupid is as stupid does, and there’s just no cure for stupid. Had Mr Krasner kept Miss Webb in jail prior to her trial, as he has been doing with male criminals, Miss Webb would not have been free to get pregnant by Mr Riley. Had Miss Webb not gotten herself knocked up at a time when she knew she was almost certainly going to jail, Mr Riley would not have beaten his kid, and would not be facing prison himself, though someone who would beat a 2-month-old was eventually going to do something else stupid that would get him locked up.

And the infant? If the child suffered real brain damage from the beating, it has yet to be reported, but the child of two such rocket scientists might not have the best start in life, and in the gene pool.

Gasoline prices will increase; the only question is how much they’ll rise before the election

I had to get gasoline in my 2010 Ford F-150 yesterday evening, which worked out to $106.03 for 32.141 gallons; that was $3.299 per gallon, and that included 10¢ off per gallon with my Kroger points. Naturally, I took a picture of the numbers on the pump, and tweeted it out, saying that it was yet another reason to retire Joe Biden.

When I opened my Facebook account this morning, I saw that I had posted, on May 1, 2020, that 87 Octane regular unleaded gasoline was $1.479 per gallon in Estill County, Kentucky that day.

Then there was this:

Biden is facing political pressure to make gas more expensive

Is a Muslim high school teacher using his position to push #AntiSemitism?

Youssef Abdelwahab, from his LinkedIn profile.

We have previously mentioned Central Bucks West teacher Youssef Abdelwahab, his anti-Israel social media posts, and how some parents believe he is ‘brainwashing’ students. Mr Abdelwahab is a Spanish teacher and adviser to the high school’s Muslim Student Association. The Central Bucks School District investigated the teacher, and concluded that his out-of-school activities did not violate policies.

Well, now his activities have caught the attention of the Feds.

You in a heap o’ trouble, girl!

Reagan Gray, photo via KTHV-TV

Why can’t supposedly educated people realize that this stuff can put them in jail?

It could be argued that, back in the time of Mary Kay Letourneau, there hadn’t been much in the way of education for teachers that sex with students was wrong, and could get you thrown in jail, but I find it difficult to believe that any teacher in 2024 would be unaware of it. If Reagan Gray was unaware of it a little bit ago, she’s very much knows about it now.

More, what church pastor has not heard of the case of Monsignor William Lynn, who was never accused of sexually abusing any minors, but who spent three years behind bars because as the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s official in charge of priestly assignments, he moved priests who had been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors to other parishes, in an attempt to sweep things under the rug.

Why are there so few pro-#Hamas demonstrations in conservative areas?

I have been checking the Lexington Herald-Leader and the Kentucky Kernel, the UK student newspaper for which I used to write back during the days of quill pens and inkwells, every day, and I have yet to see any reports of pro-Hamas, or pro-Israel, protests of demonstrations on campus or in the city. Yes, that shows that Kentucky students are just plain smarter than those elite and effete Ivy Leaguers, but then it occurred to me: there are very few Jewish students at UK, with Jews being a very small minority in the Bluegrass State as a whole, while the reports of demonstrations at Penn and Hahvahd and Columbia are occurring at schools with significant Jewish populations, and it leads me to think that these demonstrations really are just as much anti-Semitic as they are pro-Palestinian.

Crazy people are dangerous

London’s Daily Mail is a sensationalist tabloid, to be sure, but as I pointed out here, the Daily Mail was the only credentialed media source that I found which exposed the fact that the Pennbrook Middle School assailant was transgender, a boy claiming to be a girl. I’ve still seen no major credentialed media sources stating that, but I’ve also seen no credentialed media sources publishing anything which have claimed that the reports that ‘Melanie,’ the (alleged) Pennbrook assailant, is ‘transgender’ are false.

And now there’s this:

The Philadelphia Inquirer and their writers really hate it when the rule of law goes against their police-hating views

It is, of course, no surprise that most of the writers at The Philadelphia Inquirer hate the police. Columnist Helen Ubiñas, whose Twitter biography states that she is “a Latina columnist”, as though her ethnicity should make any difference, tweeted her great disappointment that former Philadelphia Police Officer Ryan Pownell should be reinstated, with back pay and restored seniority.

Fired Philly cop Ryan Pownall, whose murder case in controversial shooting was dismissed by judge, can get job back, arbitrator rules

The arbitrator also ruled that Pownall is also entitled to full back pay and seniority, the president of the police union said.

by Robert Moran | Thursday, April 25, 2024 | 8:56 PM EDT | Updated: 9:50 PM EDT

An arbitrator has ruled that the city must reinstate Ryan Pownall to his former job as a Philadelphia police officer — 1½ years after a judge dismissed criminal charges, including third-degree murder, that were filed against Pownall for the on-duty 2017 shooting death of David Jones. Green virtue signaling Too bad that they don't know what they are talking about

Every so often I can see the virtue signaling of the environmentalists that just makes me laugh. Former Mayor Jim Kenney (D-Philadelphia) may have been totally inept at actually running the city, but he sure was great at getting a ‘sugary beverage tax’ passed, to fight obesity, don’t you know, that’s none of the city’s business. And even though he was fully in support of ‘my body, my choice’ when it came to women killing their yet-to-be-born children, he was adamant and aggressive in fighting the unions to get city employees who wanted to exercise bodily autonomy when it came to taking an experimental vaccine.

Then, about six years ago, in his effort to fight global warming climate change, he pushed a project to get solar power for electricity for city-owned buildings. Continue reading

But, but, but, it’s just so unfair! Caitlin Clark's new endorsement deals are all about the Benjamins

Caitlin Clark was the top NCAA women’s basketball player this past season, and was the number one draft pick by the Indiana Fever. She was the major reason that the Iowa Hawkeyes’ women’s team got more coverage this year, and that the women’s tournament drew a lot more viewers than the norm. And, as her rookie season begins, the advance television schedule shows that the Indiana Fever will get a lot more national television coverage. Continue reading
