Traisan Fields, mugshot by Fayette County Detention Center, and is a public record.
I noted, on August 14th:
Lexington, Kentucky, current population 329,791, has seen four murders so far in 2026. Philly has 4.77 times Lexington’s population, but 27 times as many murders.
I’d like to think that the gang-bangers in Lexington didn’t take what I wrote as a personal challenge, but for whatever the reasons, five more murders have been committed there.

A second 18-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a Lexington murder and overnight crime spree, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Nolan Baker, 18, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Fayette County Detention Center. He is charged with complicity to murder, complicity to first-degree robbery, complicity to first-degree assault, complicity to second-degree assault, two counts of complicity to receiving stolen property worth between $1,000 and $10,000, complicity to receiving stolen property worth $10,000 or more, complicity to first-degree wanton endangerment, complicity to second-degree arson, complicity to tampering with physical evidence, and three counts of complicity to first-degree criminal mischief, according to court records.Nolan Baker, mugshot by Fayette County Detention Center, and is a public record.
Baker and Traisan Fields, also 18, are accused of fatally shooting Kevin David Villanueva Gutierrez, 26, of Lexington, on Cross Keys Road Aug. 29. Fields was arrested Wednesday and faces the same charges as Baker.
The murder is not the only crime Baker and Fields are accused of committing that night, as they and another conspirator allegedly stole three cars, shot a woman on Ohio Street, killed Villanueva Gutierrez and lit one of the stolen cars on fire in one night.
No, of course what my best friend used to call the Lexington Herald-Liberal didn’t publish the mugshots of the two alleged offenders, but they were easily and freely available via the Fayette County Detention Center.
If there’s one trait that criminals have in common, it’s this: they are just boneheadedly stupid! What did the criminals, whether Messrs Baker and Fields or someone else if the Lexington Police apprehended the wrong people, actually achieve on August 29th? They killed someone, seriously wounded another person, stole some cars, and now they’re locked up, and facing a murder charge. Under KRS §507.020, murder is a capital offense; under KRS §532.030, they could spend the rest of their miserable lives in prison.
Is that what they really wanted? Does that make any sense at all? Were the 32 days they spent ‘enjoying’ whatever fruits of their crime spree worth that? If Messrs Baker and Fields are the actual perpetrators, and the police have put together enough evidence to convict them, they’re going to spend the best part of their lives, and hopefully the entire rest of their lives, behind bars.
There’s really no explanation other than they are just plain stupid.
