Would-be armed robber in Philly gets a death sentence No, not by Let 'em Loose Larry Krasner, but by his intended victim

When a city like Philadelphia set a new record for homicides with 562 last year, and is on pace for 510 this year, which would be second-place all time, no one should be surprised when the law-abiding citizens of the City of Brotherly Love decide that they need to protect themselves, and not depend on the police.

A man shot and killed a would-be robber who was riding a bicycle and wielding a gun in the Lower Moyamensing section of South Philadelphia late Wednesday night, police said.Just before 11:30 p.m., on the 2200 block of South Sixth Street near West Moyamensing Avenue, a 30-year-old man on a bicycle approached a 24-year-old man who was standing outside his home smoking a cigarette, police said. The man on the bike said he was going to rob him, at which point the 24-year-old pulled out a gun and shot at the man as he was dismounting from the bicycle.

When officers arrived, they found the bicyclist on the street with a gunshot wound to his head. The alleged assailant fell unconscious as he was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital and pronounced dead hours later, around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man on the bicycle managed to shoot one or two times after he was shot in the head, but did not hit anyone.

Translation: the would-be robber was carrying his own firearm, and had it out, ready to shoot.

There’s more at the original, but the 24-year-old man was licensed to carry his weapon.

Police said their preliminary assessment was that the shooting was justified but the final determination was up to the District Attorney’s Office.

Well, that should worry the unnamed man; District Attorney Larry Krasner loves criminals, and hates law-abiding people!

In the meantime, Steve Keeley of Fox29 News reported that United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams has secured an indictment against 18-year-old Arnell Williams for carjacking and using a gun in carjacking on March 22, 2022, in North Philadelphia. If convicted of all charges, young Mr Williams faces a mandatory minimum of seven years in prison, and could get all the way up to life behind bars.

The US Attorney’s statement noted that the “newly formed Philadelphia Carjacking Task Force is comprised of members of:

  • The US Attorney’s Office Violent Crime Unit;
  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation;
  • The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and
  • The Philadelphia Police Department

Did you notice who isn’t involved? That would be the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, which means that Let ’em Loose Larry can’t offer Mr Williams probation and community service. He’s probably just hopping mad about that!

So, now the thugs on Philly’s mean streets have something more about which to worry: law-abiding people are arming themselves at a skyrocketing pace, and the George Soros stooge of a District Attorney is being bypassed by the Feds, so if a bad guy gets caught, there’s a chance that he will get actual prison time rather than one of Mr Krasner’s slaps on the wrist.
