Their candy asses having been thoroughly kicked, Iran wants the Great Satan to help them out against the evil “Zionist regime” in “occupied Palestine.” From The Wall Street Journal:
A Battered Iran Signals It Wants to De-Escalate Hostilities With Israel and Negotiate
Messages passed by Tehran through intermediaries seek a return to talks if the U.S. stays out of the fight

DUBAI—Iran has been urgently signaling that it seeks an end to hostilities and resumption of talks over its nuclear programs, sending messages to Israel and the U.S. via Arab intermediaries, Middle Eastern and European officials said.
In the midst of a ferocious Israeli air campaign, Tehran has told Arab officials they would be open to returning to the negotiating table as long as the U.S. doesn’t join the attack, the officials said. They also passed messages to Israel saying it is in the interest of both sides to keep the violence contained.
The Journal lists this as an exclusive, and has a pretty hard paywall, but you can access the story here for free.
But with Israeli warplanes able to fly freely over the capital and Iranian counterattacks inflicting minimal damage, Israeli leaders have little incentive to halt their assault before doing more to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites and further weaken the theocratic government’s hold on power.
Israeli strikes have killed key military leaders, including much of the top echelon of Iran’s air force, leaving Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei increasingly isolated. But the impact on nuclear facilities has been modest and analysts say it could take a long air war to get the results Israel wants.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the attacks will continue until Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missiles are destroyed, and he has shown no indication he is ready to stop. He has also said regime change isn’t a goal but could be a result given the Iranian leadership’s weakness.
Israeli officials have said the military has prepared at least two weeks of strikes. On Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron told his Iranian counterpart “to return swiftly to the negotiating table to reach an agreement,” and Arab leaders have called for an end to the fighting. President Trump resisted a military campaign for much of the year but has since cheered on Israel’s attacks.
“I think it’s time for a deal, and we’ll see what happens, but sometimes they have to fight it out,” Trump told reporters on Sunday.
This has been a problem for Israel ever since her modern independence. The Arabs have attacked Israel several times, and each time they’ve gotten their sorry butts kicked, and sued for peace. And every time, the Israelis have given the Arabs the ceasefire they wanted. But what Israel never got from the Arabs was their surrender, and every time Israel gave them a reprieve, the Arabs just began to retool and rearm, to get ready for their next attack. Israel and the Arabs never truly fought it out before.
Iran is not an Arab nation, yet the religious leaders there hate Israel even more than the Arabs do.
This time, the Prime Minister at least says that there is an actual goal that must be achieved before Israel will take her foot off the gas, that Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities and programs must be destroyed.
In the end, Israel will not be safe as long as Iran is governed by the Shi’ite fanatic religious government. As bad as Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was, at least Iran was moving toward Westernization and civilization while he ruled. The religious leadership that came to power in 1979 has been steadily taking the Persians back to the cultural and religious barbarism of the seventh century, but with twenty-first century technology and weaponry.
Any agreement with Iran would only be honored for as long as it takes for them to recover from the current attacks.
They’ll agree to anything with no intention of ever actually living up to it. They’ve proven this over and over again.
“Negotiations” should begin again right after every Nuclear facility in Iran is turned into a big smoking hole in the ground. Anything before that would be premature and unwise.
