I have said it before: if we had social media back in 1944, the Usual Suspects wopuld have been decrying the violence and whining that Germany was defeated, that there was no need to continue the march into Germany proper, and think of all of the poor, innocent civilians who would be killed! Had such people been around then, they wouldn’t have cared that their calls for a “Ceasefire Now!” would have left der Führer and his henchmen alive and in power, and a couple of the concentration camps in place, but still . . . .

This morning’s story is what piqued The Philadelphia Inquirer’s far-left columnist’s ire:

WASHINGTON — Two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington were shot and killed Wednesday evening while leaving an event at a Jewish museum, and the suspect yelled, “Free, free Palestine” after he was arrested, police said.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar identified the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. Lischinsky was a research assistant, and Milgrim organized visits and missions to Israel.

They were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum when the suspect approached a group of four people and opened fire, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said at a news conference.

The suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago, was observed pacing outside the museum before the shooting, walked into the museum after the shooting and was detained by event security, Smith said.

When he was taken into custody, the suspect began chanting, “Free, free Palestine,” Smith said. She said law enforcement did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the community.

The distinguished Mr Bunch was worried that “senseless violence in Gaza”, but doesn’t seem to understand that, though as militarily defeated as they can be, Hamas in Gaza still exists, still refuses to surrender, and still holds Jewish hostages. They are very much in the same situation as was Adolf Hitler and the Nazis at the end of 1944, still fighting on against by then hopeless odds, still willing to sacrifice German civilians, and still doing all they could to keep slaughtering Jews.

The Nazis could have surrendered then, could have given up and turned themselves over to the Allies, could have liberated the people still locked up and starving in the concentration camps. The Nazi leaders would have been locked up, and some executed, but Germany itself would not have been so thoroughly devastated, and hundreds of thousands of “innocent German civilians” not burned and bombed and blasted to death.

But the Nazis wouldn’t quit, and so the Allied had to keep marching, to completely destroy the Nazi regime.

And Hamas refuses to surrender, and continues to hold Jewish hostages — their only point of strength now — and thus Israel has to keep going, has to finish a horrible, nasty job.

Mr Bunch at least concluded that the murder of Israeli officials in Washington was senseless, but perhaps he ought to look at Elias Rodriguez, the (alleged) assassin, because he comes from the same political persuasion as the columnist!

The man who killed two Israeli embassy staff outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, DC on Wednesday night is an active member of a far-left Marxist, pro-Palestine group called the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

30-year-old Chicago native Elias Rodriguez held a red keffiyeh and shouted “Free, free Palestine!” as he was being taken into custody, after shooting Sarah Milgrim and her fiancé Yaron Lischinsky.

Rodriguez has been reported in the past as a member of PSL, which just this morning posted an “anti genocide pledge” on its social media.

He holds a BA in English from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

In terms of career, he worked as an Oral History Researcher at the History Makers, and most recently as a Profiles Administration Specialist at the American Osteopathic Information Association. He also made a political donation to Joe Biden in 2020.

He might not have voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris Emhoff last November, as some on the far left said they wouldn’t in protest over outgoing President Joe Biden’s half-hearted support for Israel, but if the Jerusalem Post’s story is accurate, he did donate to Mr Biden in 2020. But if you check out the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s website, you’ll see how Mr Bunch might easily fit in with them!

The Jerusalem Post included a screen capture of Mr Rodriguez at a PSL protest march.

“The wealth that Amazon has brought to Seattle has not been shared with its Black residents,” Rodriguez told Liberation magazine at the time.

“[Amazon’s] whitening of Seattle is structurally racist and a direct danger to all workers who live in that city. So do we in Chicago and all across the country want a nation of cities dominated and occupied by massive corporations where only the rich and white can live and the vast majority of us must live on the edges of the city and society living in deeper and deeper poverty?”

Yeah, Mr Bunch could have written that statement himself!

Of course, neither Mr Bunch personally, nor most of the far left would have gone as far as killing people, regardless of their rhetoric. Even Mr Rodriguez, willing as he was to (allegedly) have killed two Israelis, nevertheless did so in the (relative) safety of Washington, DC. He wasn’t eager enough to “Free, free Palestine!” to have picked up a rifle and gone to Gaza to fight actually armed Jews, to fight the Israel Defense Force.

Perhaps he should ponder that as he spends the rest of his miserable life behind bars. Judging by his picture, he will not do well in prison.
