I check Bluesky so you don’t have to! For our good friends on the left, "No one is above the law" apparently doesn't apply to illegal immigrants. Fortunately, President Trump is seeing to it that it does apply.

This site’s favorite whipping boy, The Philadelphia Inquirer’s far, far, far left columnist Will Bunch, who’s even crazier than Amanda Marcotte if such a thing is possible, has told us how important it is to enforce the law. We have previously noted how The Philadelphia Inquirer’s radical left columnist Will Bunch was adamant in his support for legality, railing against President Trump’s pardon of the January 6th Capitol kerfufflers, even though the vast majority of them had already been punished, already served their sentences, his indignation over the United States sinking drug trafficking boats rather than arresting the drug traffickers, and, as we reported in June of last year, his support for illegal immigrant and accused wife beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia, insisting that this illegal immigrant be given the full protection of the laws. He was all about the law when President Trump was eliminating drug trafficking boats coming from Venezuela, an action that Philadelphians should at least somewhat understand given the Hellhole that the Kensington neighborhood has become with strung out junkies sleeping on the sidewalks, in alleys and the Allegheny Avenue SEPTA station.

But, once again, Mr Bunch is complaining that we should not enforce the laws, not say that no one is above the law, when it comes to illegal immigration:

This quaint Pa. borough is a ‘speed trap’ nabbing immigrants for ICE

Police in Mount Holly Springs, a tiny borough in central Pennsylvania, have turned over 32 immigrants to ICE since March.

MOUNT HOLLY SPRINGS, Pa. — Still hailed for its trout fishing, this bucolic central Pennsylvania borough in the shadow of South Mountain was a big draw for tourists at the turn of the 20th century who flocked here to cool off in its mineral-spring waters.

In 2026, this tiny municipality about 25 miles southwest of Harrisburg is developing a much less welcoming reputation. The new notoriety began with an agreement between borough police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that has turned Mount Holly Springs into a kind of “speed trap” for unsuspecting immigrants — one with life-altering consequences.

What had been a simmering small-town controversy since the start of the year boiled over into an international incident on July 15 when a prominent Chinese dissident and U.S. asylum-seeker named Wu Shaoping was pulled over by a borough officer who claimed Wu had blown through a stop sign. The Amazon delivery driver was then taken into custody by ICE agents who’d been running an operation just down the road.

Sounds like pretty efficient law enforcement to me!

Nowhere in his column does Mr Bunch say that Mr Wu did not run a stop sign, or that it was not a legitimate traffic stop. He does say that the good people of the borough are outraged, but also pointed out that President Trump receive over 62% of the votes in the town. Cumberland County voters gave 80,267 votes, 54.09% of the total, to Mr Trump, compared to 66,255 votes, 44.65%, to Vice President Kamala Harris Emhoff. Overall, Mr Trump carried the Keystone State. The borough, the county, and the Commonwealth at large all voted for this.

No one likes speed traps, but the people who get caught in speed traps are all breaking the law. That some of them have been caught for being in the country illegally is a good thing. “No one is above the law,” as President Biden once tweeted .  .  . when he was trying to put his predecessor in jail. The super-duper Alpha named Harry Sisson was more direct about at whom he meant, saying, “Hey Donald, NOBODY is above the law in the United States.”

That would include immigrants.

Mr Bunch was, surprisingly enough, honest enough to include comments from those who support immigration enforcement, but most of it was just more sob story.

They’re here, and they’re breaking the law, breaking the law every day. They’ve got to go.

  1. “No one likes speed traps, but the people who get caught in speed traps are all breaking the law. ”

There’s a difference between being caught in a “speed trap” and a legitimate traffic stop.

A speed trap is where they either take advantage of an area where the traffic laws are confusing, ambiguous or unexpected (or deliberately design a particular area’s traffic signage and flow to be such) specifically to “trap” unsuspecting drivers who had no intention of violating traffic laws.

I’ve been caught in them before and a good lawyer can get those charges dismissed. Sometimes the threat of publicity is enough to get them to “let you off with a warning”.

I’ve also gotten stopped for legitimate traffic stops. Yes, I was speeding, I knew it and I accepted the risk. In those cases, I typically just mail in the fine and avoid court altogether.

Those are two different scenarios. Knowing the leftist media I’d assume that they used the term “speed trap” specifically to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the stops. The fact that they didn’t explain WHY the stop was not legitimate tells me that they know the stop was actually legitimate and are being intentionally misleading by characterizing it as a “speed trap”.

Also I note that of the 32 people turned over to ICE by Mount Holly Springs, they only profiled one…who just happened to be the one who seems to have a legitimate asylum claim and was released.

What about the other 31? Were they all such upstanding citizens?

Also questions unanswered: If the arrestee has a valid asylum application pending, why did the Mount Holly Springs cops turn him over to ICE? Is it possible that a date had passed, an application lapsed? A work permit expired? We don’t know because they don’t tell us…only that the cops arrested a sympathetic figure. I’d be interested in those types of details. Seems like an actual, unbiased journalist would too…unless they actually know those answers and just don’t want their readers to know them too, so they don’t bother to mention them.

This was a propaganda piece, nothing more:

Look how terrible Trump’s policy is because one good person with a legitimate claim to asylum was inconvenienced. obviously, that completely undermines the thousands of violent criminals and hundreds of thousands of illegals with no legitimate reason to be here that have been deported or self-deported under Trump right?

    Right?
