World War III Watch Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran

9:36 PM EDT — As we noted yesterday, the potential of launching an air attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran was something which had to be based on intelligence estimates, and sometimes intelligence estimates are wrong. As William Teach noted on the 20th, President Donald Trump had set a two-week window for negotiations with Iran to produce an acceptable result, but the President loves misdirection, and like the monitored communications between Captain Spock and Admiral Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, when hours could seem like days, apparently days could seem like weeks . . . or vice versa.

I cannot say that I am unhappy that the United States attempted to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons sites, because, in the end, Iran simply cannot be allowed to develop and possess nuclear weapons. But I certainly am concerned, because we have, in effect, entered yet another foreign war. The President is scheduled to address the nation at 10:00 PM EDT, and I very much hope that he will tell us that this was one-and-done, that we are now staying out of the war between Israel and Iraq. But, of course, one nation cannot simply call off a war; there is the little matter of the enemy, and whether he will consider it called off. Iran will certainly talk big, and the Houthis will threaten American shipping, but only the Lord knows how this will play out.

I guess that I have to add the video Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran! Continue reading

President Trump is winning on immigration: a large number of illegals have apparently self-deported

My good friend Robert Stacy McCain noted this Juneteenth that Steven Camerota and Karen Ziegler of the Center for Immigration Studies analyzed reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and concluded that “the number of illegal immigrants has fallen by one million since the start of the year.” That number is far greater than the number of illegals that have been deported, and that means, if the estimates are close to correct, what President Trump called self-deportation has been occurring in far greater numbers than the most optimistic of us had hoped.

Let’s extrapolate a bit from this analysis. If the number of illegal immigrants decreased by one million in about five months, that’s an average decline of 200,000 every month — roughly 2.4 million per year. So if the current trend could be continued, by the time the 2028 election rolls around, the number of illegals in the United States will be less than it was when Joe Biden took office in 2021.

At this point, Mr McCain noted what this would do to congressional seat, and therefore electoral vote, apportionment. President Trump tried this, sort of, during his first term, when he wanted immigration status included in the 2020 census, as possibly a way to apportion congressional seats based on the number of American citizens rather than raw population, but that effort failed.

But I look at it differently. I have said it previously, that the United States needs immigrants, but that we need good, vetted, useful, legal immigrants, immigrants of good character, immigrants who have clean criminal records in their home countries, and immigrants who are civic minded, attend church, and will assimilate into our country, to wave American flags, not Mexican ones.

Those who have left voluntarily, without being picked up and kicked out, will have the advantage if they apply for legal immigration, not having a forced deportation on their records. We should be able to investigate their records in their home countries, and their records here in the United States, without prejudice, if they apply to return legally. And those who have poor records, we can exclude.

This is what we should want, people who will come to the United States, contribute to our economy and our society. We can assign reasonable criteria that they have to meet:

  • Couples who have been legally married for more than three years;
  • Couples who have children;
  • No single males of military or fighting age;
  • No gangland or gang-related tattoos;
  • People with marketable skills;
  • People who have a record of good employment;
  • Families who attend Mass regularly; and, of course
  • People with clean criminal records.

There was some Democratic politician, I cannot recall whom, who facetiously tried to justify illegal immigration by saying that the Latin American countries were sending us their best people. Actually, I saw it as people who weren’t good enough to make it in their own countries! But with the kinds of criteria I listed, and other criteria could be suggested, we could do our best to assure that the immigrants admitted actually are the best for whom we could hope.

The vast majority of Americans, including the majority of people who voted for President Trump, would gladly accept those kind of immigrants.

The Trump effect is doing some good things

We do not allow those under 18 to vote. We do not allow those under 18 to drink alcohol. We do not allow those under 18 to enlist in the military. In most states, those under 18 cannot legally consent to sexual intercourse. But, to our friends on the left, those under 18 ought to be able to consent to physical castration, plastic surgery, and life altering, physically irreversible surgical procedures. President Trump is trying to put a stop to that.

Penn ceases gender-affirming surgery for patients under age 19

The move comes after an executive order from President Donald Trump that directed agencies to cease grants and other funding that could be used for gender-affirming care.

World War III Watch: It could still happen if people get stupid

It was only a couple of days ago that the democratic West was buoyed by Ukraine’s deep strikes into Russia. From The Washington Post:

Ukraine’s drones disrupt Russia with airport closures, internet blackouts

As Ukrainian drones strike deep into Russian territory, they are disrupting day-to-day life and reminding Russians that the war is not confined to the trenches.

by Mary Ilyushina | Memorial Day, May 26, 2025

Large-scale Ukrainian drone attacks have rattled multiple Russian regions for the third consecutive day, grounding flights, disrupting internet access and stretching the country’s air defense systems thin. Continue reading

No matter how much you hate the credentialed media, you do not hate them enough!

You know, I get it: everyone wants to keep his job, no matter how royally he f(ornicated) up! As we have previously noted, the credentialed media have been trying their d(arnedest) to blame their almost total lack of coverage of thankfully former President Joe Biden’s declining physical and mental health not on their own failures to be actual journalists, but on Mr Biden’s inner circle and staff of paid flunkies to tell them the truth. How naïve do the reporters and editors have to be to think that people whose jobs and positions depended on Mr Biden remaining in office would tell other people that their boss was losing it?

Well, apparently the Editorial Board of The Washington Post want you to think that they were stunned by events!

If Biden was too frail for his job, voters should have been informed

Sometimes you just have to be an [insert slang term for the rectum here] to do things right President Trump tries to break the 'anchor baby' chain.

According to Wikipedia, the term “anchor baby” is defined as:

Anchor baby is a term (regarded by some as a pejorative[1][2]) used to refer to a child born to non-citizen parents in a country that has birthright citizenship which will therefore help the parents and other family members gain legal residency[3] or avoid deportation. In the U.S., the term is generally used as a derogatory reference to the supposed role of the child, who automatically qualifies as an American citizen under jus soli and the rights guaranteed in the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.[4][5][6] The term is also often used in the context of the debate over illegal immigration to the United States.[7] A similar term, “passport baby”, has been used in Canada for children born through so-called “maternity” or “birth tourism“.[8][9]

Once again, Hahvahd is producing The Best and The Brightest!

Harvard University, our nation’s oldest and most prestigious institution of higher learning — though any college which accepted David Hogg and granted him a degree has to be suspect when the term “higher learning” is applied to it — is suing the Trump Administration over federal spending cuts to the school due to Hahvahd’s refusal to go along with measures to protect Jewish students and personnel from the anti-Semitism which has been running rampant through our (supposedly) top universities.

So, naturally the Usual Suspects decide to demonstrate their anti-Semitism! Continue reading

This is what winning looks like President Trump was right all along: we didn't have to accept some illegal immigration to reduce illegal immigration in total; we could fight illegal immigration without compromise.

One of President Trump’s main campaign promises was to close the border to illegal immigration. It’s easier to intercept and interrupt illegal border crossing than it is to round up illegal immigrants already in the United States, and that policy is absolutely working. Not only are the Border Patrol undertaking stronger efforts to stop the illegals from crossing, but the President’s policies have discouraged many more from even trying.

The Los Angeles Times is one of America’s (formerly) great newspapers, and of an extremely liberal editorial slant. But even that newspaper has to tell the truth sometimes:

California-Mexico border, once overwhelmed, now nearly empty

Beware the Ides of March! There's more to Chuck Schumer's surrender than people have realized.

Some of my good friends on the right are chortling with glee because Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has said that he will not try to stop the continuing resolution passed by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to keep the government from shutting down as the Ides of March come upon us. But Mr Schumer has a good reason, that few have realized.

There is the alternative that Chuck Schumer really, really doesn’t want. The so-called nuclear option was used by then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) on November 21, 2013, because evil, reich-wing Republicans were filibustering the judicial nominations made by President Barack Hussein Obama, and judicial nominations except for the Supreme Court could now have cloture invoked by a simple majority vote.

Then, during President Trump’s first term, Senator Mitch McConnell turned the tables on the Dems, and, using the same procedure, removed the filibuster for Supreme Court nominations as well.

Well, here we are again: the Republicans control the Senate, and can change the rules with a simple majority vote that can’t be filibustered, and they could just end the filibuster rule altogether. Because of the narrow majority in the House, all bills passed have to satisfy virtually every Republican, including the hard-liners, and the Republicans in the Senate realize that the Dems will filibuster all that they can.
