Maybe not that much of a heap o’ trouble for five Philly ‘teens’

The WordPress software that this site uses has an interesting feature when it comes to generating the url code for the headlines, one that enables a sequential series. And thus the working headline for this article is “You in a heap o’ trouble, boy!”, which I have used several times in the past. The screen is showing me that this would be the 22nd article using that title. Due to the way the software works, as long as I post it under that headline, the url remains the same, even if I change the headline subsequently, which is why there are some headlines “You in a heap o’ trouble, girl!” that have the boy in the url. 🙂

And so it is with this one, because I wonder just how big that heap o’ trouble is for five juvenile delinquents in the City of Brotherly Love.

Four teens charged in Philly collision that killed a man, police say

Four teens between 14 and 17 years old have been charged after a stolen Kia SUV ran through a red light in North Philadelphia, striking Wilberto Casillas, who died at the scene.

Four teenagers have been charged with evading arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after a fatal collision in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

According to police, a 17-year-old boy driving a stolen Kia SUV ran a red light and struck Wilberto Casillas, 55, who was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle through the intersection of Front Street and Hunting Park Avenue around 8 p.m.

Casillas, who police say lived in Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the Kia and the motorcycle collided, the car continued north on Front Street for about 1,000 feet while all five occupants — including the driver — “bailed out on foot,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters Tuesday evening.

The punks who bailed out were two 17-year-olds, a 15-year-old, and a 14-year-old, all girls, and the 17-year-old boy who the Philadelphia Police believe to have been the driver. Charges against the assumed driver are still pending, but the girls have been charged with

Under Title 18 §106, (b)(3) the penalty for a second-degree felony is imprisonment for not more than ten years, (b)(4) the penalty for a third-degree felony is imprisonment for not more than seven years, and (b)(7) the penalty for a second-degree misdemeanor is imprisonment for not more than two years.

But the (alleged) perpetrators are all juveniles, and the odds are pretty high that the city’s George Soros-sponsored, police-hating, criminal-loving, softer-than-Charmin-on-crime District Attorney, Larry Krasner, will see to it that the charges are all juvenile offenses, and that extremely lenient plea deals will be offered. Wilberto Casillas, on the other hand, received the death penalty.

The 17-year-old driver? There’s at least a possibility that Mr Krasner will treat him more harshly.

The Kia had been stolen on Monday, Small told reporters. Security camera footage obtained by NBC10 showed police officers following the SUV immediately after the accident. When asked whether police were tracking the stolen vehicle, Small said it was under investigation, according to 6ABC.

But we do know one thing: when the five ‘teens’ get out of jail, Mr Casillas will still be dead.
