High school teachers are supposed to be reasonably well educated, with a bachelor’s degree at the very least, and most public school districts require teachers to earn a master’s degree within a few years of being hired. So how can so many of them be so very, very dumb?

Katy ISD teacher arrested, charged with 10 counts of child pornography, admits to producing images himself

HOUSTON – A Katy ISD teacher was charged with Possession of Child Pornography.

James Paul Stone was arrested on Monday, May 13th after Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Investigations Division, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant at his home.

The investigation stemmed from the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Internet Crimes Against Children Detective’s undercover investigation related to the possession or promotion of child pornography on the dark web.

Thousands of images of child pornography were recovered from the home, including several images that Stone admitted to producing himself. The images found include images he admitted to taking while on school grounds, at beaches, and local swimming pools around the Katy area.

Stone was immediately arrested and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.

Stone was charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography.

Taylor High School principal Melinda Stone, Mr Stone’s wife, said she was unaware and had nothing to do with the allegations against her husband. Mr Stone taught at a different high school, Tompkins High. I am reminded of how Jerry Sandusky’s wife was completely unaware that her husband was raping little boys.

How, exactly, could Mr Stone have, allegedly, of course, had thousands of child porn images on his computer, added some that he took himself, and his own wife didn’t know about it? If she didn’t know about it, is she really self-aware enough to be a high school principal, someone who is supposed to be on the alert for stuff like this?

As for Mr Stone, how could he not have been aware that the authorities are scouring the internet, looking for the trafficking of this kind of material? Even someone who is psychologically obsessed, and just plain sick, ought to have been able to figure out how to hide it better than store it on his personal computer. Let’s face it: most criminals are just plain stupid!
