Will Bunch: #TrumpDerangementSyndrome much?

Will Bunch is The Philadelphia Inquirer’s furthest left, and by that I mean far left, bat guano nuts #woke,[1]From Wikipedia: Woke (/ˈwoʊk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from … Continue reading falling for every bit of insane madness woke, #TrumpDerangementSyndrome woke, and he’s agitated again this morning.

So, what is piques his ire this fine Saturday morning? It seems that the President’s daughter, Ivanka Trump Kushner, visited the Philadelphia Eagles training center. Heaven forfend!

The most surprising plot twist of Donald Trump’s second term in office might be his family’s sudden fondness for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The good vibes continued Friday with the Eagles welcoming Ivanka Trump, the president’s oldest daughter, to the NovaCare Complex.

Trump thanked Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and head of security Domenico “Big Dom” DiSandro on social media Friday for giving her and her son, Theo, “an epic tour” of the team’s training facility.

The tour included photos with the team’s two Lombardi Trophies, a stop by Big Dom’s office, and a little flag football on the practice field with Theo’s teammates, who came along for the trip.

Trump also visited the locker of cornerback Eli Ricks, who was smitten by the president’s daughter at the White House last month. After the visit, Ricks wrote on social media, “After seeing her in person Ivanka is exactly my type.”

Unfortunately for Ricks, Trump is married to Jared Kushner, and the couple has three children together. But that didn’t stop her from leaving a playful note at his locker that said, “Stopped by to say hi! Sorry to miss you! Go Birds!”

There’s more at the original, but what you won’t find in the original is any discussion of the President’s policies. Reporter Rob Tornoe’s article was about as free from politics, other than the mention that several Eagles players chose not to attend the White House visit winning Super Bowl teams normally get, as it could be.

More, unlike during the President’s first term, Mrs Kushner isn’t part of her father’s administration this time. Mrs Kushner brought along the flag football team on which her son plays, and they had some fun there.

“Everything about this story is sickening,” wrote Mr Bunch, and I have to ask why. Kids playing flag football? Mrs Kushner, and apparently her father as well, liking the Iggles? Those things would be included in “everything,” wouldn’t they?

Mr Trump carried Pennsylvania 3,543,308 (50.37%) to 3,423,042 (48.66%), so a lot of Eagles fans must have voted for him. Subtract the Philadelphia vote, and President Trump carried the other 66 counties 3,398,997 (53.66%) to 2,854,471 (45.06%).

I shall admit to some schadenfreude that the distinguished Mr Bunch has his thong panties in a twist about this.  🙂

1 From Wikipedia:

Woke (/ˈwk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression “stay woke“, whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term broadly associated with left-wing politics and cultural issues (with the terms woke culture and woke politics also being used). It has been the subject of memes and ironic usage. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black Lives Matter movement.

I shall confess to sometimes “ironic usage” of the term. To put it bluntly, I think that the ‘woke’ are just boneheadedly stupid.
