The Philadelphia Inquirer noted the latest pro-‘Palestinian’ march stopped outside Goldie, a Jewish-owned falafel shop, chanting “Goldie, Goldie, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide.” This left The Editorial Board to opine:
Intimidating Jewish businesses will not end the bombing in Gaza | Editorial
Protesters are well within their right to put on peaceful demonstrations, but those who went out of their way to target a Jewish-owned restaurant only helped inflame already heightened tensions.

The hundreds of protesters who marched through Center City and University City on Sunday are free to demand a cease-fire in Gaza. But stopping to chant outside a restaurant owned by Israeli-born Michael Solomonov undermines calls for peace and reeks of antisemitism.Specifically targeting Jewish businesses in Philadelphia or elsewhere summons up dark historical memories of World War II German atrocities and should not be tolerated. Gov. Josh Shapiro was right to call out protesters who harassed Goldie, Solomonov’s falafel shop.
“Tonight in Philly, we saw a blatant act of antisemitism — not a peaceful protest. A restaurant was targeted and mobbed because its owner is Jewish and Israeli,” Shapiro wrote on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. “This hate and bigotry is reminiscent of a dark time in history.”
While I’m happy that Elon Musk bought Twitter and ended the censorship of conservatives on that site, I absotively, posilutely refuse to call it “X”! There’s more below the fold, including a video.
Goldie was part of a boycott list of “Zionist-owned” restaurants issued by a group called the Philly Palestine Coalition, which has organized some local pro-Palestine demonstrations. Many of these restaurants were included simply for being owned by Jews. In the case of Suraya, a Lebanese restaurant in Fishtown, its inclusion was due to selling Israeli products.
There’s more at the original, as the Editorial noted the civilian casualties in Gaza, and though stating that “Israel has a right to defend itself from the attack by Hamas, a terrorist organization whose stated goal is to destroy the state of Israel and kill all Jews living there,” nevertheless pushed for the Israel Defense Force to find a way to “allow civilians to move to safe zones and reach humanitarian aid,” as though Hamas fighters wouldn’t seek their own safety among such safe zones.
But while so very many are calling for Israel to ease up on Hamas in Gaza, Hamas themselves are telling us that October 7th won’t be the last attack on Israel!
Top Hamas Official Warns ‘War of Liberation’ Surpassing October 7 Massacre Is Imminent
by Joshua Klein | Sunday, December 3, 2023
A “war of liberation” surpassing the unprecedented October 7 terror attacks is coming soon, vowed a senior Hamas official who expressed no regrets over the U.S.-designated terrorist group’s brutal massacre in Israel — the deadliest against Jewish people since the Nazi Holocaust — which saw the torture, rape, execution, immolation, and abduction of hundreds of Israelis of all ages, mostly civilians, and dozens of Americans.
Hamas political bureau member Osama Hamdan made the remarks during a broadcast Wednesday on the Lebanese media outlet Bel Moubashar Online.
During the interview, which was translated and published by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Hamdan was asked if he would repeat the October 7 massacre if given the opportunity to go back, to which he responded: “Why would some people assume that we would go back on our acts of resistance?”
He also expressed no regret for “shattering an entire division of the occupation army.”
Hamdan then said he could “promise that a war of liberation is coming, not just another October 7,” adding that he thinks such an event is not far off.
In October, Hamas senior political official Ghazi Hamad declared that the terror group intends to repeat its October 7 terror attack until Israel is annihilated.

It’s easy for Osama Hamdan to tell us that Hamas will continue the attacks whenever they can, because he lives and ‘works’ in Beirut, Lebanon. He’s not a fighter in the field, with a rifle in his grubby little hands, facing the bullets and bombs in Gaza. Ghazi Hamad? The New York Times reported that Mr Hamad, a senior Hamas official in Gaza, who had maintained a back channel dialogue with Gershon Baskin, an Israeli peace activist based in Jerusalem, “left Gaza for Lebanon weeks before the war.” He, too, can say whatever the heck he wants, without braving the battle himself. That he bolted for Lebanon before October 7th means that he almost certainly knew the attack was coming, and wanted to get his butt to safety.
Hamas are fanatics, and they knew, knew! that the October 7th attack wasn’t enough to defeat Israel. Perhaps they had delusions that the rest of the Arab nations would join the assault, and their Iranian suppliers undoubtedly encouraged them, but they had to know that the assault would beget a huge Israeli response, one that would be devastating for Gaza. Yet they went ahead with an attack which was based not on wholly unrealistic notions that they could beat Israel, but one which deliberately used rape and kidnapping as a weapon of terror. I guess that they really believed in their 72 awaiting virgins!
While the liberal West are telling Israel slow down, consider a ceasefire, don’t be so mean and destructive, Hamas are telling Israel, telling the whole world, that a ceasefire will just give them time to regroup and rearm and assault Israel again. While Hamas may lie through their scummy teeth about tactics on the ground, deaths reported and hostages being treated nicely, they have always been completely truthful about their strategic aims. When Osama Hamdan tells us that Hamas will attack Israel again and again and again, we should believe him.
We need to understand: Hamas are not Westerners, not people who somehow share our basic ways of thinking, and not people who are just basically nice guys in a tough spot. They are like Philadelphia criminals: men reared by rotten parents, in a culture which prizes strength and violence, who are simply not civilized in any way that liberal Westerners would recognize.
There is only one reasonable path for Israel: she must continue fighting, she must burn and bomb and destroy until Hamas are completely destroyed. Only complete victory will suffice.
