The money line was actually the last paragraph:
Unlike Trump 1.0, when bureaucrats frequently ignored the administration and stymied its agenda, this time around, the lesson has been learned. Resistance is being met with immediate action. Gottlieb may very well hit the leftist podcast circuit, dining out on his reputation as a “martyr” and “truth teller,” but the lesson will not be lost on other people who aren’t anxious to follow that path.
It seems that the current Trump Administration isn’t taking disobedience by subordinates laying down, but by laying down the law: toe the line, or hit the road.
The Resistance Attempts a Coup at USAID and It Doesn’t Go Well

The director of employee and labor relations at the US Agency for International Development has been placed on administrative leave after a stunning refusal to follow directions given by President Trump’s transition team.
Tuesday, acting USAID Administrator Jason Gray ordered nearly 60 senior bureaucrats placed on indefinite administrative leave for taking actions to evade Trump’s executive orders; see Trump Suspends As Many As 60 Senior Bureaucrats for Trying to Evade His Executive Orders – RedState. In a memo, Gray said, “We have identified several actions within USAID that appear to be designed to circumvent the president’s executive orders and the mandate from the American people.“ As a result, we have placed a number of USAID employees on administrative leave with full pay and benefits until further notice while we complete our analysis of these actions.”
But it gets better than that. Director of Employee and Labor Relations Nick Gottlieb attempted to countermand the administrative leave orders, but it didn’t go well for him; streiff’s original article on RedState has the very amusing details.
One thing about Donald Trump’s 47th Presidency is that it is better than his 45th: he is getting things done through immediate and aggressive action. The devastating floods in western Carolina? Under our 46th President, interregnum Democrat Joe Biden, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spent four months of bureaucrats being bureaucrats. Matt Van Swol, a resident of the area, reported heavily via his Twitter postings just how slowly and incompetently FEMA was ‘helping’ the people of the area. Bureaucrats gotta bureaucrat, and nobody was actually doing anything to help. President Trump has fast tracked the clean up and recovery efforts and getting the displaced into real shelter, all things that FEMA could have done following the September 27th devastation,[1]Even in east central Kentucky, we felt the effects, as we lost power at my house for 3¼ days. was just after the beginning of autumn, when it was still reasonably warm, but almost nothing was getting done because our country’s leadership but didn’t do while Mr Biden was in office.
September 27th was just after the beginning of autumn, when it was still reasonably warm, but almost nothing was getting done because our country’s leadership were not pushing it. There were 115 days between when Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina, and 39 days before the election, but the bureaucracy-entrenched FEMA was leaving people living in tents and travel-trailers as winter hit. Once Mr Trump was inaugurated, orders started flowing from our renewed leadership, and action was being taken . . . four months after the disaster struck.
Of course, Mr Biden had been slowly, or perhaps not that slowly, into dementia, so his Administration was being run by incompetent Democratic staffers rather than the actual President, and they were far more interested in getting every last dollar possible, and every piece of equipment they could, to Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine, than they were in helping actual Americans.
Immigration enforcement is also getting done, something a majority of the American people want, all because our 78-year-old President has been active and aggressive in getting the job done!
