I love it when a plan falls apart! Aiding the civilian population in Gaza simply prolongs the war, meaning more civilian deaths in the long run.

President Joe Biden started out with a policy of strong support for Israel following the October 7th terrorist attacks by the murderers, kidnappers, and rapists infesting Hamas. But, like so many of the #woke[1]From Wikipedia: Woke (/ˈwoʊk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from … Continue reading on the left and in the Democratic Party, he started going all wobbly in his aged knees when he saw what war is actually like once the Israel Defense Force counterattacked. Modern communications, ubiquitous smart phone cameras — how can the ‘Palestinians’ be smart enough to use smart phones, but still stupid enough to attack Israel? — an social media exposed to the war what war is like, the kind of images which we would have seen in Germany and Japan and Italy after the tides of World War II had turned, if such had existed in 1944-45. The exact numbers will never be known, but guesstimates are that between 300,000 and 600,000 German civilians, and over 200,000 Japanese civilians were killed by Allied bombing raids. Many more were injured, and industrial workers losing their homes were either unable to continue in war production, or less productive when they did work. This was all part of the war effort.

Mr Biden, of course, decided that the United States must Do Something to ease the plight of the poor, poor civilians in Gaza. From The Wall Street Journal:

Biden promised it would deliver ‘massive amounts’ of aid, but weather and logistics have hampered plans

Woke (/ˈwk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression “stay woke“, whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term broadly associated with left-wing politics and cultural issues (with the terms woke culture and woke politics also being used). It has been the subject of memes and ironic usage. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black Lives Matter movement.

I shall confess to sometimes “ironic usage” of the term. To put it bluntly, I think that the ‘woke’ are just boneheadedly stupid.

Today’s left and their whining about successful Israeli rescue missions No military anywhere strives for a 'fair fight'

My good friend William Teach noted that NBC News decided to take its cue from all of the pro-Palestinian/pro-Hamas Twitter bots out there, weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth that some poor, poor Palestinians were killed during the rescue, blaming a “failure of negotiations.”

“What we saw yesterday is actually failure of the negotiations,” Yossi Mekelberg, an associate fellow with the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House, said in a phone interview with NBC News.

“Had there been a cease-fire, these hostages would already have been at home, and the civilians that were killed yesterday would be alive,” Mekelberg said.

There was a ceasefire in place, right up through October 6th. Had Hamas not broken that, those hostages would have always been at home, and the civilians killed in the rescue missions would still be alive. Continue reading

Israel busts yet another Hamas tunnel and weapons cache

Hamas weapons captured, photo by IDF. Click to enlarge.

It was not quite two weeks ago that President Joe Biden threatened to withhold American weapons shipments to Israel if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent the Israel Defence Force into Rafah. The obvious question becomes: did Hamas have weapons stockpiled in Rafah, or did them move some from elsewhere into Rafah, hoping that Israel would kowtow to the dummkopf from Delaware’s demands?

IDF troops raid Hamas compound, seize weapons cache from hidden tunnel in Rafah

IDF troops say they eliminated ‘dozens’ of Hamas members

Israeli forces conducted a raid against a Hamas compound in Gaza on Tuesday, uncovering a tunnel and a significant cache of weapons and explosives. Continue reading

How interesting that inclusive places like Haverford College allow discrimination against Jews on campus

Haverford College was founded in 1833, as a men’s college, by members of the Religious Society of Friends, more colloquially known as Quakers. According to the school, 98% of the 1,472-member student body live on campus, and the college claims a six-to-one tree to student body ratio. Full disclosure: I did some work on the Haverford campus in the early 2000s.

A liberal arts college, they are most definitely liberal, as they have proudly posted about their student body ‘diversity,’ telling us that the Class of 2027 is 52.5% “identify as people of color”. No mention was made concerning whether Rachel Dolezal was a student. 🙂

Haverford isn’t cheap, as tuition, fees, and housing for the 2024-25 academic year totals $89,568, though they also say that 49% receive some sort of financial aid, 44% receive outright grants, with the average grant being $62,237.

So, you’d think that Haverford College is an inclusive and welcoming place, right? The college certainly advertises itself that way! Unless, of course, you’re a Jooooo! From The Philadelphia Inquirer: Continue reading

Holding their breath until they turn blue

The Princeton Princess, her neckbearded ally, and the girl who really needed to go on a hunger strike.

The only real weapon a hunger striker has is the concern of those against whom he is striking that the hunger strikers might actually die, bringing negative repercussions on those the striker opposes. If the hunger strikers are not actually prepared to die for their cause, they have no power at all. And, as I previously noted, a hunger strike is only effective if someone actually cares if you starve yourself to death.

Many people, including me, mocked the Princeton princess and her whining about the rigors of the students’ hunger strike, because it showed the unseriousness of it. Now we have this:

Princeton University students end anti-Israel hunger strike ‘due to health concerns’

The end of the ‘hunger strike’ came after members initially vowed not to eat or drink again

Students at Princeton University protesting Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza have called an end to their hunger strike after just 10 days.

Princeton Divest Now, the student protest group that is calling for the New Jersey Ivy League university to divest from America’s Middle Eastern ally due to the high civilian death toll in the Gaza Strip, said additional strikers would be continuing their efforts. Continue reading

A hunger strike is only effective if someone actually cares if you starve yourself to death

Do you know who Aaron Bushnell was? Perhaps the name is familiar, but most people would be forgiven if they didn’t remember who he was or why they had heard his name. Senior Airman Bushnell, an enlisted man in the United States Air Force, poured an inflammable liquid on himself and committed suicide via self-immolation outside of the gates of the Israeli embassy in Washington to protest American support for Israel in their war against Hamas. SrA Bushnell was famous for a couple of days, but, let’s be honest here, while people do remember the event, the late Mr Bushnell personally wasn’t famous for long.

As we previously reported, Khader Adnan was a long-time Palestinian Arab activist, and at one point a spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Arrested many times, Mr Adnan’s weapon of choice in detention was the hunger strike. His first hunger strike, ten days long, occurred in 2000, when he was locked up not by the Israelis, but the Palestinian National Authority. In 2011, he began another hunger strike, one which lasted 66 days. In 2015, he undertook a 56-day hunger strike, which resulted in Israel releasing him. He kept getting himself arrested, and finally, after another, much longer 87-day hunger strike, died in prison on May 2, 2023.

We also reported, in February, how several Brown University students went on an eight-day-long hunger strike, and then mocked the quaint story that 30 Harvard students went on a 12 hour hunger strike in solidarity with their fellow Ivy Leaguers.

And now? Roughly 15 pro-Hamas students have gone on a hunger strike at Princeton, and hunger strikes are serious things, but they’ve opened themselves up to justifiable mockery. Continue reading

We all have #FreedomOfSpeech, but that does not come with freedom from consequences The anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas protesters are finding out that some people have listened to them, and don't like what they've said

I spotted this on my feed this morning, and the different reactions are humorous.

Conservative judges say they will boycott Columbia University students

The judges accused Columbia of becoming “ground zero for the explosion of student disruptions, anti-semitism, and hatred for diverse viewpoints on campuses.”

By Tobi Raji | Tuesday, May 7, 2024 | 6:42 PM EDT

More than a dozen conservative federal judges are threatening to not hire law clerks who attend Columbia University or its law school starting this fall — an attempt to show the judges’ displeasure over the institution’s handling of pro-Palestinian protests.
