We reported, on October 5th, on the charges against Cody Monroe Heron, 26, the (alleged) numbskull who road raged against a delivery driver, who jumped on the trunk of her car, stomped out the rear window, showering kids in the back seat with shattered safety glass. Steve Keeley of Fox 29 News reported that the police-hating, George Soros-sponsored District Attorney, Larry Krasner asked for a whopping $5,000,000 bail to be set for Mr Heron, which certainly seemed excessive for the charges he faced. We pointed out that Mr Heron was a man of relatively modest, working class means, and that a $5,000,000 bail was likely impossible for him to meet.
The judge reduced Mr Krasner’s request, setting Mr Heron’s bail at $2,500,000.
As it turned out, Mr Heron was unable to meet that amount either. We then reported, on October 16th, that Mr Heron’s attorney sought a bail reduction for his client, but that, instead, Common Pleas Court Judge Vincent Furling instead increased his bail amount to $4,000,000. If Mr Heron was unable to make the $2,500,000 bail, raising it to $4,000,000 seemed to me to be an obvious attempt to keep Mr Heron, who is accused of serious crimes, but nevertheless has a clean previous record, locked up before his trial. The evidence against Mr Heron is pretty convincing, but he is, nevertheless, innocent until proven guilty.
And so we come to Michael Henry. Mr Henry has, allegedly, been a not-very-nice young man!
Police have arrested a 30-year-old suspect in two Southwest Philly gunpoint rapes
Michael Henry was arrested Saturday and was expected to face charges for rape, robbery, and related offenses, according to a Philadelphia police spokesperson.

Police have arrested a 30-year-old Philadelphia man who they believe raped two women at gunpoint earlier this month in the city’s Kingsessing section, authorities said Sunday.
No, of course The Philadelphia Inquirer didn’t include Mr Henry’s mugshot; that comes to us via Mr Keeley!
Michael Henry was charged with aggravated assault, rape, robbery, kidnapping, and related offenses in connection with one of the assaults, the District Attorney’s Office said. He’s being held on $2 million bail, according to Jane Roh, a spokesperson for District Attorney Larry Krasner.
So, Mr Heron stomped out the back window of a vehicle in a road rage incident, showering some children in the back seat with shattered safety glass, and pointed, but did not fire, a gun he was legally licensed to carry at the car driver who got out and challenged him, but caused no serious injuries, yet the District Attorney initially sought a $5,000,000 bail for him, which eventually wound up at $4,000,000, but Mr Henry, accused of 22 total charges including aggravated assault, rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse — which probably means anal rape — robbery, kidnapping, VUFA (Violation of Uniform Firearms Act) No license, VUFA Illegal carrying of a firearm, witness intimidation, and other offenses, is being held on ‘just’ $2,000,000 bail?
Where is the consistent justice in that?
Authorities said the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating Henry’s “suspected involvement” in other sexual assaults that they said fit a similar pattern.
Henry was identified as a suspect after police combed through surveillance footage and received several tips, according to Sgt. Eric Gripp, a police spokesperson. Authorities are awaiting results of DNA testing and might file additional charges, Gripp said.
Yeah, right. The Inquirer story detailed other investigations concerning Mr Henry, which you can read if you follow the embedded link. But here’s the final paragraph of the story:
Court records show Henry has been arrested several times in the last five years in Philadelphia and Delaware County. He’s pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault and making terroristic threats. Earlier this year in Philadelphia he faced charges of drug possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy. That case is pending.
While Mr Heron had a clean prior record, Mr Henry does not. He has pleaded guilty to simple assault, normally a second-degree misdemeanor under Title 18 §2701 and making terroristic threats, which, under Title 18 §2706(d), can be either a first-degree misdemeanor or a third-degree felony. More, he was already facing other criminal charges, yet his initial bail was set at just half of Mr Heron’s.
District Attorney Krasner’s Twitter biography states that he “fights for equal justice for the great people of Philadelphia. A fair and effective criminal justice system makes us safer.” While Mr Krasner’s “effective criminal justice system” making the city safer is certainly debatable — and I believe that it has made Philly a crime-ridden Hellhole — it seems inarguable that the District Attorney and his office are not “fight(ing) for equal justice” when they seek a much higher bail for a man accused of serious crimes but who did not actually hurt anybody than for an accused rapist.
Let’s be blunt here: Cody Heron is white, and Michael Henry is black. Is that the reason for the great variance in their bail amounts? I cannot state, with certain knowledge, that that is the reason, but at least visually, that seems to be a strong possibility. There’s a whole lot of explaining that needs to be done here!
