When my good friend William Teach wrote, at 8:25 PM EST on Christmas Day, “What’s the over/under that the @nytimes doesn’t bother to cover this, despite being a NY paper? Maybe a tiny blurb on A25. If these were rioting Jews it would already be on the web front page,” I thought that surely, surely!, even The New York Times couldn’t ignore riots. But, Mr Teach was right: at least as of 8:40 AM EST, there were no stories at all on the front page of the Times website concerning the riots, though there was a story, in the “In Case You Missed It” section about halfway down on the right hand side, “New York City, for Some Jews, Feels Newly Tense : With antisemitism and protests spilling onto the streets of New York, the city’s Jewish population is trying to navigate the new contours of its hometown,” a story dated on December 20th, six days ago.
There was an old joke in the city, from the days when people actually read the dead-trees editions of newspapers, that people on the subways used the Times as a cover to hide from people that they were actually reading the New York Post:
Pro-Palestinian protesters chant ‘Christmas is canceled’ while carrying blood-red mock Nativity scene through NYC — scuffles break out, arrests made

They’re out to “cancel” Christmas.
Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters converged on Midtown Monday, lugging a blood-red mock Nativity scene and chanting, “Christmas is canceled here.”
“Long live the intifada,” the crowd of about 500 demonstrators yelled, using the Arabic word for “rebellion” or “uprising,” as they mobbed the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, where revelers were enjoying the holiday.
“While Ur Shopping Bombs are Dropping,” read one of the signs carried by the protesters.
“No Joy In Genocide,” said another, written atop the faux Nativity scene, which was splattered in what appeared to be fake blood and which several of the demonstrators carried on their shoulders.
A few scuffles broke out in the crowd after nightfall, including outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which sent cops running through the mob.
At least six arrests — four for disorderly conduct, one for menacing and one for graffiti — were later reported near Grand Central Station and Union Square, as protesters and cops clashed, according to law enforcement sources.
As the crowd thinned at Union Square Monday night, dozens of protesters waving the Palestinian flag remained. At least one person was seen being arrested by police there.
One of us wonders why, for the Times, this wasn’t news that was fit to print.
They left “Zionism is terrorism” and “Free Palestine” stickers and “Murdered by Israel” flyers on the exterior of the Union Square Holiday Market.
Some scrawled pro-Palestinian slogans, including “From NY to Gaza, Globalize the Intifada,” “Netanyahu is a warmonger” and “Israel kills babies.”
Given how much the left love them some pre-natal infanticide, one wouldn’t think that last would bother them overmuch.
The protest was just the latest anti-Israel march to take place in the Big Apple in the wake of Hamas’ Oct. 7 sneak attack, which sparked the Jewish state’s subsequent retaliatory strike in the Gaza Strip.
It followed a pro-Palestinian car caravan that disrupted Christmas carolers at Washington Square Park Sunday night, blaring music to douse the holiday spirit in the neighborhood.
The Christmas Day demonstration targeting the Manhattan area popular with holiday revelers and tourists prompted cops to go on alert outside the News Corp headquarters on Sixth Avenue.
The News Corp building houses Fox News, the Post, and The Wall Street Journal, among other things. No wonder the savages hate it!

Of course, they couldn’t protest against those things, because protesting against the government isn’t safe. Protests in Iran over the death-in-custody of Mahsa Amini for not wearing a headscarf in public led to serious, violent crackdowns by the government:
Authorities have not released an official death toll, but Iran’s Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) says at least 530 protesters have been killed by security forces. Almost 20,000 other protesters have reportedly been detained, including journalists, film stars and footballers.
Seven protesters have also been executed following what the UN expert called “arbitrary, summary and sham trials marred by torture allegations”. Dozens more have reportedly been sentenced to death or charged with capital offences.
Security forces have denied killing peaceful demonstrators, but they have been filmed firing live ammunition on the streets.
There is tremendous complacency in the United States. Few of these protesters have ever had to face the enemy in war, and the United States itself has not been threatened by war in living memory: even the two World Wars of the previous century posed no actual threat to the United States itself. We are living fat, dumb, and happy, enjoying the fruits of a capitalist society and economy while the Usual Suspects protest against the very economic system which has lifted most people out of poverty.
Capitalism has also lifted the Israelis out of the poverty of an area in which most are poor, an underdeveloped scrubland that only the hard work of the Jews has turned into a land flowing with milk and honey. The pro-Hamas protesters cannot see that the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs have not done and do not want to do the same work the Israelis did to make their country flourish, but would prefer to steal it from the Israelis; if all of the Jews vanished, and the Arabs took over the area, from the river to the sea, in a generation’s time the entire region would look like the current ‘Palestinian’ lands, yet another wasteland in an area filled with them.
