#Hamas leaders don’t really care about #Palestinian lives, and see the sacrifice of them as politically useful.

,Ismail Haniyeh is the ‘Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau,” and as such is supposedly the chief officer of that terrorist group. On October 7, 2023, he gave a televised speech from Istanbul, telling the world that the October 7th attack was fully justified, which he “highlighted threats to Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, the continuation of the blockade on Gaza and Israeli normalization with countries in the region.” Safely living in Qatar, Mr Haniyeh is once again rejecting a ceasefire proposal which does not give Hamas complete victory.

Gaza war: Hamas leader demands full end to conflict in blow to Biden plan

CAIRO/JERUSALEM, June 5 (Reuters) – The leader of Hamas said on Wednesday the group would demand a permanent end to the war in Gaza and Israeli withdrawal as part of a ceasefire plan, dealing an apparent blow to a truce proposal touted last week by U.S. President Joe Biden.

Israel, meanwhile, said there would be no halt to fighting during ceasefire talks, and launched a new assault on a central section of the Gaza Strip near the last city yet to be stormed by its tanks.

The remarks by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh appeared to deliver the Palestinian militant group’s reply to the proposal that Biden unveiled last week. Washington had said it was waiting to hear an answer from Hamas to what Biden described as an Israeli initiative.

“The movement and factions of the resistance will deal seriously and positively with any agreement that is based on a comprehensive ending of the aggression and the complete withdrawal and prisoners swap,” Haniyeh said.

It’s so easy to reject a ceasefire proposal which doesn’t give you everything you want when you have a net worth of $4 billion and are living in luxury in Qatar, 1,100 miles from the fighting.

The New York Times, in an article on Hamas’ chief actually in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, reported:

As an architect of the Oct. 7 attacks, Mr. Sinwar masterminded a strategy that he knew would provoke a ferocious Israeli response. But in Hamas’s calculus, the deaths of many Palestinian civilians — who do not have access to Hamas’s subterranean tunnels — were the necessary cost of upending the status quo with Israel.

American and Israeli intelligence agencies have spent months assessing Mr. Sinwar’s motivations, according to people briefed on the intelligence. Analysts in both the United States and Israel believe that Mr. Sinwar is primarily motivated by a desire to take revenge on Israel and weaken it. The well-being of the Palestinian people or the establishment of a Palestinian state, the intelligence analysts say, appears to be secondary.

Don’t be fooled! The Hamas leaders, both inside and out of Gaza — most are safely outside, though Mr Sinwar is believed to be holed up in a tunnel complex under Khan Younis, shielded by Israeli hostages — don’t actually care about ‘Palestinian’ Arab lives, and see the continuing loss of those lives as a political gain in the minds of the weak-willed in the civilized West.

  2. I’d wager that if the Israelis agreed to vacate Israel, move to the US and give the entirety of the territory to the “Palestinians” in return for Hamas et al allowing them to leave peacefully and agreeing to stop trying to kill them, the “Palestinian” leadership would reject the deal.

At this point I don’t think they even want an “independent state”. Having an independent state means that the leadership has to actually lead and govern. That’s no fun. They’d rather blow shit up and kill people. Collect “aid” from other countries and the UN to line their pockets with. Whine about how mistreated they are by the “occupiers”.

Actually running a country is hard. I don’t think they’re interested in that. Why should they be when all they have to do is keep playing their victim card to keep the gravy train flowing?
