World War III Watch: Slouching toward the big one?

There are perhaps some who have thought that my concerns have been overblown in my World War III watch articles, especially when so much of the advocacy comes from those who never wore our country’s uniform, but the hits keep coming and coming.

Everybody Ready for Armageddon?

by Robert Stacy McCain | October 27, 2023

Perhaps “nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog,” shall soon be gathered for this battle:

U.S. fighter jets launched airstrikes early Friday on two locations in eastern Syria linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Pentagon said, in retaliation for a slew of drone and missile attacks against U.S. bases and personnel in the region that began early last week.

The U.S. strikes reflect the Biden administration’s determination to maintain a delicate balance. The U.S. wants to hit Iranian-backed groups suspected of targeting the U.S. as strongly as possible to deter future aggression, possibly fueled by Israel’s war against Hamas, while also working to avoid inflaming the region and provoking a wider conflict. Regardless of what the #woke want to believe, the numbers don’t lie

Transgender girl makes history with victory at cross country regional

Soren Stark-Chessa, a sophomore at Maine Coast Waldorf School, controlled the Class C South girls’ race from start to finish, with support from the crowd.

CUMBERLAND — A 15-year-old runner on Saturday became the first transgender athlete to win a regional high school cross country championship in Maine.

Soren Stark-Chessa, a sophomore at Maine Coast Waldorf School in Freeport, won the Class C South girls’ title at Twin Brook Recreation Area, completing the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 17.78 seconds – a minute and 22 seconds faster than the runner-up.

“I think I came out a little strong but just kept pushing through it and I’m happy with it,” Stark-Chessa said of her race.

As you can see, the Press-Herald apparently follows a stylebook which specifies the pronouns favored by the person to whom they refer, even if those pronouns are an abject lie.

The numbers don’t lie: 1:22 faster than the first real girl running is a huge gap, 7.13%. While young Mr Stark-Chessa beat the runner-up by 82.51 seconds, the gap between second and third place, both real girls, was just 18.82 seconds. Continue reading

Woke (/ˈwk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression “stay woke“, whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term broadly associated with left-wing politics and cultural issues (with the terms woke culture and woke politics also being used). It has been the subject of memes and ironic usage. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black Lives Matter movement.

I shall confess to sometimes “ironic usage” of the term. To put it bluntly, I think that the ‘woke’ are just boneheadedly stupid.

Crime is crime; why should we care about the motive?

I have asked this question before: why is it somehow worse if someone beats you up because he hates you for being a member of some accredited victim group than if he beats you up because he wants to steal your wallet? From Robert Stacy McCain:

Detroit Police Say Anti-Semitism Not Motive in Synagogue Leader’s Murder

by Robert Stacy McCain | October 24, 2023

Very important update on the case:

Detroit police said investigators have looked into several people of interest in the killing of Samantha Woll, the president of a Detroit synagogue. Woll was found stabbed to death outside her home on Saturday morning.

In a press conference on Monday, Detroit Police Chief James White declined to unveil the connection between Woll and the people of interest, declaring a prime suspect cannot be named at the time.

“We have to be very, very cautious as to what information we share,” White said. “There are very intricate details about this case that, if revealed, could really damage what we’re trying to accomplish. There are facts that are known only to our suspect.” Continue reading

Just because they like to behead babies is no reason to label Hamas “terrorists!

The First Street Journal has previously reported on the Associated Press Stylebook, and how the AP uses it to try to push political debates in one direction or another, which is almost always to the left. Well, now the AP believe that the credentialed media should not refer to terrorists as terrorists! Continue reading

Is justice in Philadelphia a matter of the color of your skin?

We reported, on October 5th, on the charges against Cody Monroe Heron, 26, the (alleged) numbskull who road raged against a delivery driver, who jumped on the trunk of her car, stomped out the rear window, showering kids in the back seat with shattered safety glass. Steve Keeley of Fox 29 News reported that the police-hating, George Soros-sponsored District Attorney, Larry Krasner asked for a whopping $5,000,000 bail to be set for Mr Heron, which certainly seemed excessive for the charges he faced. We pointed out that Mr Heron was a man of relatively modest, working class means, and that a $5,000,000 bail was likely impossible for him to meet.

The judge reduced Mr Krasner’s request, setting Mr Heron’s bail at $2,500,000.

As it turned out, Mr Heron was unable to meet that amount either. We then reported, on October 16th, that Mr Heron’s attorney sought a bail reduction for his client, but that, instead, Common Pleas Court Judge Vincent Furling instead increased his bail amount to $4,000,000. If Mr Heron was unable to make the $2,500,000 bail, raising it to $4,000,000 seemed to me to be an obvious attempt to keep Mr Heron, who is accused of serious crimes, but nevertheless has a clean previous record, locked up before his trial. The evidence against Mr Heron is pretty convincing, but he is, nevertheless, innocent until proven guilty.

And so we come to Michael Henry. Mr Henry has, allegedly, been a not-very-nice young man! Continue reading

Is Pope Francis trying to destroy the Church?

We have previously mentioned what it’s website calls “Historic St. Paul Roman Catholic Church,” at 425 West Short Street in Lexington, Kentucky, and not in a positive way. St Paul’s has an active homosexual ministry, something which cannot ever be approved. Continue reading

Trudy Rubin wants Israel to lose in Gaza

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Trudy Rubin describes herself, in her Inky bio, as “writ(ing) the Worldview column that tries to make sense of the world’s chaos and conflicts as they affect Americans at home,” but she has made it abundantly clear that she does not understand the world’s chaos and conflicts. She has been an endless shill for continuing American aid to Ukraine, in good neocon fashion, and that’s seven columns on the subject, just since mid-August, and I could have linked more, but believe that I have made the point. She understands that Hamas are wholly evil, but just doesn’t get it about the ‘Palestinians.’ Continue reading

When they show you who they are, believe them! Did The New York Times think that no one would notice?

In the first Avengers movie, Robert Downey, Jr, as Tony Stark, spots a SHIELD technician playing a video game at his terminal, and says, loudly, “That man is playing Galaga. He thought we wouldn’t notice, but we did.”

The tech quickly shuts down Galaga and returns to work . . . until the Avengers leave the room, when he brings up the game again.

NYT rehires Hitler-praising Soliman Hijjy to cover Israel-Hamas war

By Shannon Thaler | Friday, October 20, 2023 4:11 PM EDT

A New York Times reporter who came under fire last year for a praising Adolf Hitler in multiple resurfaced Facebook posts was rehired by the Gray Lady to cover the Israel-Palestine war.

Palestinian filmmaker Soliman Hijjy hailed the Nazi leader as recently as 2018 in a post on Facebook, when he shared a photo of himself captioned that he was “in a state of harmony as Hitler was during the Holocaust,” per a translation from Arabic by pro-Israel media watchdog site HonestReporting.

That same year, Hijjy was hired by the Times as a freelance journalist and worked on a slew of “visual investigations” published by the organization through 2021, including one on an Israeli airstrike that killed 44 people.

Hijjy’s 2018 post — including a 2012 Facebook post where he wrote, “How great you are, Hitler” in Arabic alongside a photoshopped image of Hitler seemingly taking a selfie — were unearthed last year, when pro-Israel outlets called out the Times for hiring antisemitic journalists as freelancers. Fired because they were just plain stupid

Would anybody, anywhere, claim that it’s wrong to fire people, or rescind job offers, if the people who lost out on those jobs has publicly posted, “I hate [insert plural slang term for Negroes here]”?
