Another One Bites the Dust

There is no more appropriate song of which I can thing for the journey of Yahya Sinwar to Jahannam, that Queen and Another One Bites the Dust,

The rest of this is below the fold, because Mr Sinwar was as unlovely in death as he was in life.

CNN identifies building where Israeli military killed Hamas leader

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in one of the only houses still standing in a residential area of Rafah, a CNN analysis of videos and photos released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has found.

CNN was able to make the geolocation by comparing recent satellite imagery to videos and photos from the vicinity that were shared on social media by the IDF.

The home was roughly 1,000 feet (300 meters) from what appears to be an IDF forward operating base or vehicle depot. Multiple satellite images from Planet Labs taken this month show a number of military vehicles, and even a bulldozer, parked among newly constructed earthen berms in the same spots over multiple days and weeks.

On Thursday, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed Sinwar was killed in the Tal al-Sultan area of Rafah.

It’s unclear whether Sinwar was sheltering in the area for some time or had only recently sheltered there. But the area was largely untouched by the war until August 28, when a group of homes was destroyed just north of where Sinwar was killed, according to CNN’s review of the Planet Labs satellite imagery.

By September 2, the home where Sinwar was found was surrounded by destruction. Bulldozing immediately followed. Several of the roadways around the home on September 10 are seen destroyed, and homes are seen completely leveled, in the satellite imagery.

Of course, the Biden Administration didn’t want the Israel Defense Forces to enter Rafah in the first place:

Harris Warned Israel Not to Invade City Where It Just Killed Hamas Chief

Thursday, October 17, 2024 | 7:40 PM EDT

Back in March, Vice President Kamala Harris warned Israel not to enter Rafah, the southern Gaza enclave where Hamas had holed up among the civilian population, saying in an interview that the U.S. would not rule out “consequences” if the Israeli military moved forward with a gathering invasion.

On Thursday, she praised Israel’s success in killing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as he hid out in that very city.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed Sinwar during a firefight in Rafah overnight Wednesday, only discovering in the morning after a positive DNA analysis that they had taken out the the architect of the Oct. 7 attack that killed 1,200 people a year ago.

Earlier this year, however, the Biden administration had strongly opposed the IDF conducting a full-scale military operation in Rafah, even calling such an invasion a “red line” in public and reportedly urging the Israelis not to go forward in private.

The moral of the story: do not take military advice from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Emhoff!

The Biden Administration wanted there to be a safe haven to the ‘Palestinian’ “civilians,” as if any of them actually are civilians. In a move that should surprise exactly no one, Mr Sinwar chose a place which was among the last Israel assaulted as his hidey-hole. That he stayed there after the IDF assault raises the obvious question: did the IDF move so quickly that they cut off Mr Sinwar’s escape routes?

The New York Times reported, just two weeks ago, that “Mr. Sinwar has long believed he will not survive the war,” and in that, he was right. The IDF released drone footage which spokesman Daniel Hagari said is of Mr Sinwar, sitting alone in a damaged house, and in which he appears to throw something, probably a stick, at the drone. Did he know that his number was up? Was he just so tired of running and hiding and cowering out of sight that he was ready to just let it happen? While we don’t know what he was thinking, it is gratifying to know that he knew that he was about to die, as opposed to being killed instantly.

The only question I have now is: will the pro-#Hamas idiots in the United States and Europe have more demonstrations, this time praising the martyred Mr Sinwar?
