Did you know that I’m a “Domestic Violent Extremist”? I didn’t know I was, but that’s apparently how the Biden Administration would have classified me, if they knew who a small fry like me was.
We have previously reported on how the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Christopher Wray, Merrick Garland, and eventually President Joe Biden decided to surveil “Radical Traditionalist Catholics”:
Kyle Seraphin, who was a special agent at the bureau for six years before he was indefinitely suspended without pay in June 2022, published the document, “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities,” on UncoverDC.com.
“In making this assessment, FBI Richmond relied on the key assumption that [racially or ethnically motivated extremists] will continue to find [radical-traditionalist Catholic or RTC] ideology attractive and will continue to attempt to connect with RTC adherents, both virtually via social media and in-person at places of worship,” the document from January 23 states.
It adds that “RTCs are typically categorized by the rejection of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) as a valid church council; disdain for most of the popes elected since Vatican II, particularly Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II; and frequent adherence to anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and white supremacist ideology. Radical-traditionalist Catholics compose a small minority of overall Roman Catholic adherents and are separate and distinct from ‘traditionalist Catholics’ who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass and pre-Vatican II teachings and traditions, without the more extremist ideological beliefs and violent rhetoric.”
It was also noted that Director Wray lied through his scummy teeth about the size of the FBI’s effort, minimizing its scope.
We also saw an article by Daniel Panneton in The Atlantic, originally entitled “How the Rosary Became an Extremist Symbol“, about which I have previously written.
The Atlantic got plenty of pushback about it, and twice changed the article headline and subheading — the title “How Extremist Gun Culture Co-Opted the Rosary: The AR-15 is a sacred object among Christian nationalists. Now “radical-traditional” Catholics are bringing a sacrament of their own to the movement” isn’t shown in the screen captures tweeted by Taylor Marshall — imaged to the right, but the internet is forever.
Now we have this, from RedState:
Newly Released Document Shows Insane Level Biden Administration Went Through to Crush COVID Opponents
By Katie Jerkovich | Friday, May 23, 2025 | 4:50 PM EDT
Newly released documents show that former President Joe Biden’s administration labeled critics who opposed any of the COVID mandates as “Domestic Violent Extremists,” a designation usually saved for militias.
In a new report from Catherine Herridge, recently declassified intelligence documents reveal that Biden’s administration was so determined to force mask and vaccine mandates that it was willing to crush Americans’ First Amendment rights to silence any opposition. It is just more proof that you can’t hate them enough.
The report is titled “NEW: Biden Administration Labeled Opponents Of Covid Mandates As ‘Domestic Violent Extremists.'”
Rather than quote more of Miss Jerkovich’s article, which could stymie some readers behind a paywall, I’ll go straight to Catherine Herridge, formerly a senior investigative correspondent for CBS News before she was laid off due to budget cuts in February of 2024, and her Twitter — I refuse to call it 𝕏 — posting:
NEW: Biden Administration Labeled Opponents Of Covid Mandates As “Domestic Violent Extremists,” Newly Released Documents Show
The designation infringed on the First Amendment and opened the door to investigating Americans for vaccine mandate skepticism.
The Biden Administration labeled Americans who opposed the COVID-19 vaccination and mask mandates as “Domestic Violent Extremists,” or DVEs, according to newly declassified intelligence records obtained by Public @shellenberger @galexybrane and Catherine Herridge Reports. The designation created an “articulable purpose” for FBI or other government agents to open an “assessment” of individuals, which is often the first step toward a formal investigation, said a former FBI agent.
The report, which the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, has declassified, claims that “anti government or anti authority violent extremists,” specifically militias, “characterize COVID-19 vaccination and mask mandates as evidence of government overreach.” A sweeping range of COVID narratives, the report states, “have resonated” with DVEs “motivated by QAnon.”
The FBI, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) coauthored the December 13, 2021 intelligence product whose title reads, “DVEs and Foreign Analogues May React Violently to COVID-19 Mitigation Mandates.”
The report cites criticism of mandates as “prominent narratives” related to violent extremism. These narratives “include the belief that COVID-19 vaccines are unsafe, especially for children, are part of a government or global conspiracy to deprive individuals of their civil liberties and livelihoods, or are designed to start a new social or political order.
“It’s a way they could go to social media companies and say, ‘You don’t want to propagate domestic terrorism so you should take down this content,’” said former FBI agent Steve Friend.
On April 12, 2020, I asked what would the left see as going too far in fighting the COVID panicdemic? We noted, that November, that the COVID Karens gotta Karen, as the busybodies, the Gladys Kravits of the country, have to snitch on everything they can. We noted how Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY) issued dictatorial orders infringing on our freedom of religion, ordering churches and religious private schools closed.
I have 195 — 196 now! — past articles tagged #COVID19, and a Catholic, and I have a rosary, so there’s plenty there to qualify me as a “Domestic Violent Extremist,” at least as the Biden Administration saw it. The government, including some times during President Trump’s first term, chose to exercise authoritarian dictates to fight the panicdemic. No, that’s not a typo, but it is spelled exactly how I saw it, and still see it.
And then there were incels . . .
