It has been a few days since journolists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson published their book Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, blaming everybody in Mr Biden’s administration for the elderly President’s decision to run for re-election despite his failing mental status.

Former Representative Beta Beto O’Rourke of Texas:

Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) said ex-President Biden “failed this country in the most important job that he had” and should not have run for reelection in 2024.

“Just to be clear, Biden should not have run again. And to be even more clear, he failed this country in the most important job that he had,” O’Rourke told “Pod Save America” in a clip shared by the podcast.

“We might very well lose the greatest country that this world has ever known. And it might be in part because of the decision that Biden and those around him made to run for reelection,” the Texas Democrat added.

O’Rourke’s comments come as Democrats face scrutiny over Biden’s 2024 reelection bid and his fitness for a second term in office following revelations from new and forthcoming books that detail the end of the Biden presidency.

“If anything was clear coming out of 2024, [people] wanted change. And to literally run the oldest guy who many people, accurately, to your point, said ‘I just don’t think he is capable of doing this.’ … I think that credibility problem is going to persist up until when Democrats say ‘we f‑‑‑ed up and we made a terrible mistake,’” said O’Rourke, who ran for president in the 2020 cycle.

The Washington Post, in a review of Mesrs Tapper’s and Thompson’s book, went through several of the Democrats saying, saying now, that Mr Biden shouldn’t have attempted to run again, and referenced:

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-California), an outspoken supporter of Biden before he ended his reelection campaign last summer, acknowledged in a statement to The Washington Post on Wednesday that he had been mistaken in backing the former president’s reelection.

“In my few interactions at public events, I found him coherent and proud of his record, but it is now painfully obvious he should not have run,” Khanna said. “We should have had an open primary. We must acknowledge this truth to regain trust with the American people.”

The New York Times opinion columnist asked, “How Did So Many Elected Democrats Miss Biden’s Infirmity?” Jennifer Szalai’s ‘non-fiction book review‘ said basically the same thing: it was all the fault of the President’s advisers and inner circle. The Telegraph blamed First Lady Edith Wilson Jill Biden, who should have been the person the most aware of her husband’s condition. A site search of The Philadelphia Inquirer’s website was the cleanest of all: that great newspaper never mentioned the book!

But can you guess who the credentialed media didn’t blame? They very carefully didn’t blame themselves! Deanna Fisher, who blogs with The Victory Girls, certainly isn’t part of the credentialed media, so she did something really radical like tell the truth:

When I say all out, I mean ALL OUT. According to The Daily Beast, they’ve even hired a crisis PR firm to help them handle the release of their “Original Sin” book, because those MAGA meanies keep digging up clips of Jake Tapper absolutely trashing anyone who dared suggest that Joe Biden was cognitively impaired. The most famous example of this, of course, was his snotty treatment of Lara Trump during the 2020 election.

The Democrats themselves are pretty much going all out on blaming Mr Biden, and they should, but that means they are blaming a character who was in serious mental decline, as well as blaming his paid advisers, and (some of them) his wife, all of whom had a vested interest in Mr Biden being re-elected. They’re blaming paid hacks for being paid hacks? Odd how Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein didn’t just listen to the paid hacks.

But no, those purveyors of Freedom of the Press, those who tell us that they are our eyes and ears in Washington and we should give them our hard-earned dollars, will take no responsibility themselves. They are using their time, effort, and resources to slam everything President Donald Trump has done and is doing, but if they ever mentioned the stories about Joe Biden losing touch with reality and perhaps no longer being up to the job as President, it was to defend Mr Biden and denigrate the stories!

If our august journalists had any sense of shame, you’d think that at least a couple of them would admit that they were a huge part of the cover-up of Mr Biden’s decline. All of the evidence put forth by us evil, reich-wing bloggers ought to have prompted some editor, somewhere, to at least assign someone to investigate such claims concerning the oldest man ever to be President, about whom even Messrs Tapper and Thompson wrote — after the election, of course — “What the public saw of his functioning was concerning.”

But none did. If there were any enterprising junior reporters who thought the story at least worth investigating, their editors must have shut it down. If that happened, it would be nice if such a reporter stood up and said so, naming the editor who shut him down, but that, of course, would be career suicide.

Nevertheless, in the end, the credentialed media did the United States one of the greatest favors ever! By their collusion with a failing and faltering President, and his paid minions, they helped to deliver the presidency not to Kamala Harris Emhoff, but back to Donald Trump. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid.
