My good friend Robert Stacy McCain has frequently written, “I watch CNN” or sometimes MSNBC, “so you don’t have to. Well, I went ahead and checked out Bluesky, the liberal version of Twitter, so that you don’t have to.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Bluesky has suspended the account of Libs of TikTok.
Chaya Raichik, the doxed by Taylor Lorenz creator of the Twitter account Libs of TikTok began with the amusing tactic of searching TikTok for leftists saying or doing utterly stupid things, and publicizing them more widely. She recently deployed again to the oh-so-polite company of Bluesky, but it seems that the leftists over there just can’t stand having their own words repeated back to them.
Miss Lorenz, who blocks people on her Twitter account, because she can’t stand criticism, hasn’t blocked me, at least, on Bluesky. She is personally “severely, severely immunocompromised,” and is “in and out of the hospital constantly bc I have the immune system of someone going through chemo”, so she chronically complains about people not taking COVID precautions, skeeting we “dumbfucks are out raw dogging the air and spewing ur disease laden breath all over ur elderly neighbors.” According to the Urban Dictionary, “rawdogging” originally meant copulating without a condom.
Translation: Miss Lorenz is complaining about people breathing! Robert Stacy McCain was amused.
If you follow the link to Seth Abramson’s original posting — I think they’re called “skeets” — you’ll see a litany of happy responses, so very glad that things they didn’t like were being posted there. They’re happy in their own little world!
One fine gentleman styling himself EJ, and claiming in his bio that he is “🔥 ANTIFA AF 🔥”, wished Miss Raichik death, saying “I’ll be happy when Chaya Raichik is 💀”, that last being a skull emoji. I guess that I’m not seeing that much sweetness and light over there.
Bluesky is, let’s face it, a place where the left can be just as mean and vile as they claim the right is now that Elon Musk has gone (almost) completely free speech on Twitter — yes, I still refuse to call it 𝕏 — and the denizens therein don’t even hide it. It’s just that they want their own little echo chamber. Will Bunch, the hardest left columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, and George Takei love it, which ought to tell you a lot about the place.
The proprietors of Bluesky have, of course, every right to regulate the content of what they publish, but those of us who value freedom of speech and of the press have every right to mock them for what they do.
I saw a tweet yesterday that summed it up perfectly:
“The left is leaving X for Bluesky not because they’re NOT permitted to speak freely on X, but because the right IS.”
BTW: Ever wonder how Taylor Lorenz became “immunocompromised” in the first place?
Let’s just say that she’s pretty much an expert on raw dogging…so there’s that.
The Blueskys I knew growing up in the Bronx were all old garment worker union Jewish lefties, and their kids were all red diaper babies.
